North Star Project
Guiding Light for the Missing

Bringing Light to the Lost, and Hope to the Searching
The North Star Project was born from a deeply personal place—a response to the rising crisis of missing persons in Alaska and the silence that often surrounds them. What started as a mission between two friends has grown into a nonprofit built on compassion, urgency, and faith. Our work is grounded in the belief that no one should search alone, and every missing person deserves to be seen, searched for, and remembered.
We are more than just a search and rescue team. We are a network of advocates, volunteers, and families bound by the mission to provide real help in the darkest moments. From immediate response efforts to emotional support and long-term advocacy, we are committed to being a beacon of hope—whether it’s a case lost in the system or one just beginning.
What We Offer
At North Star Project, we offer holistic, hands-on, and heart-led support tailored to the unique challenges of missing persons cases—especially across Alaska’s vast and remote landscapes. Our team includes experienced volunteers, ex-military members, and passionate advocates who ensure every effort is ethical, lawful, and effective.
Search and Rescue (SAR) Operations
Coordinated volunteer-based ground searches with trained personnel—especially in remote or underserved areas.
Family Support and Advocacy
We provide emotional support, case navigation, and resource connection for families from day one.
Education & Volunteer Training
Workshops and guides on safe investigative practices, how to advocate legally and effectively, and how to assist SAR efforts.
Awareness & Anti-Trafficking Campaigns
Community outreach to educate the public on trafficking, exploitation, and prevention strategies.
Compassionate Action Rooted in Community and Faith
North Star Project isn’t just another organization—we are a movement born from love, loss, and an unwavering commitment to stand in the gap. We are uniquely positioned to meet the complex challenges of Alaska’s missing persons crisis and beyond, with services that blend search efforts, emotional care, and long-term advocacy.
